You Asked. We Listened!

Last year, we announced that our existing Advent Tea Calendar format would be discontinued because the enormous behind-the-scenes work was no longer sustainable for our small team. What we didn’t expect was how many of you would tell us how much this tradition meant to you. So we went back to the drawing board—not to recreate the old calendar, but to make it more sustainable for our team and more meaningful for you.

The 2026 25-Day Tea Advent Calendar: 25 Days of Moments Together returns with 24 loose-leaf teas, one day of matcha (with an enclosed matcha tool), and an expanded digital experience. Beginning December 1, each reveal will uncover the history, culture, flavor, Churchill’s story, or holiday tradition behind your cup, plus an invitation to slow down and share the moment with someone you love through dialogue. Discover Holiday Delights, History & Rituals, and Signatures & Stories—and choose whether to reveal all 25 teas at once or join us one day at a time.

Presale begins Early September. Please be on the look out for the next email from me when the pre-sale link is ready. We thought we were saying goodbye to this tradition last year. Your enthusiasm helped us imagine what it could become instead. The cups are meant to be emptied; the moments are what we hope you’ll keep.

At Churchill’s, tea has always been about more than what’s in the cup. Our mission is to build connections through tea—across cultures, generations, and our Cincinnati community. That might mean sharing the Advent journey with someone you love, showing up for neighbors through #SteepTogetherCincy, celebrating Cincinnati creativity through Charley Harper and tea, or gathering around our table to learn something new at a tea class. In the months ahead, we’re creating even more ways to connect through tea—and we’d love for you to join us.

#SteepTogetherCincy began July 19 with a simple question: when our neighbors are hurting, how can a tea shop help?

After flooding impacted local businesses, we highlighted those affected and invited our community to support them—then thanked participants with complimentary loose-leaf tea.

When severe storms and widespread power outages hit Cincinnati in August, the invitation became even simpler: come in for a free 16 oz iced tea. No purchase. No questions asked. Whether you were without power, cleaning up storm damage, or simply hot and tired, we wanted Churchill’s to be a place to cool down and feel a little cared for. Together, we served more than 100 free iced teas in 10 days.

From July 19 through August 24, #SteepTogetherCincy evolved in ways we never planned, but its purpose stayed the same: supporting local isn’t only about where we spend our money—it’s also about how we show up for one another.

Thank you to everyone who supported a neighboring business, shared the campaign, stopped in for tea, or simply helped spread a little kindness around Cincinnati.

A Harper Moment Is Coming to Cincinnati This October!

Cincinnati is celebrating Charley and Edie Harper—and we’re kicking things off over tea! Join us Sunday, October 4, for Tea & Tale: Charley & Edie Harper, a relaxed afternoon of tea, stories, and 20 questions of Charley Harper trivia.

We’ll also share the story behind our exclusive collaboration with the Charley Harper Art Studio and Cincy Candle Lab, featuring Charley’s Cardinal Claus and Edie’s Magnificat paired with two Churchill’s teas. It’s a fun way to get to know the Harpers before Cincinnati Art Museum’s Charley Harper exhibition and Taft Museum of Art’s Edie Harper exhibition open later that month.

No art or tea expertise required—just bring your curiosity!

New Tea Classes and Events (2026 - 2027)

Our tea class and event calendar is evolving, with Saturday and Sunday experiences and a new topic to explore each month.

Alongside tea-focused classes, you’ll also find community-driven gatherings that bring something more to the table—such as Tea & Tale, Tea & Calligraphy, and Tea & Chocolate Pairing.

As our event program grows, the gatherings themselves are intentionally staying small. Every Churchill’s class and experience is now limited to just 16 participants, giving you more time to ask questions, share what you’re tasting, and connect with the people around the table.

Our hope is simple: more opportunities to discover tea, and more meaningful connections made over it. We hope you’ll find something that sparks your curiosity and join us at the tea table.
