Ginger Green Tea (loose leaves)

Ginger Green Tea

Description:

Fresh Sencha-style green tea meets the unmistakable warmth of ginger in a remarkably simple two-ingredient blend—bright, spicy, vegetal, and clean.

The Experience

Ginger Green Tea proves that a compelling blend doesn't need a long ingredient list.

It combines green tea with ginger, allowing the character of both ingredients to remain clear in the cup. Ginger arrives first with its warming, lively spice, followed by the fresh vegetal character and gentle astringency of the Sencha-style green tea.

This tea is brisk, warming, and refreshing rather than sweet. The ginger has enough personality to awaken the palate without disguising the tea underneath, while the green tea provides structure and a clean finish. If you enjoy ginger but want to taste the actual tea alongside it, this is an excellent choice.

Ingredients: Green tea, ginger
Caffeine: Caffeinated

How to Brew

Use 1 heaping teaspoon with The Perfect Measure Spoon per 8 oz / 237 ml of water at 185°F / 85°C.

Mild: 1–2 minutes
Medium: 2–3 minutes
Strong: 3–5 minutes

For your first cup, we recommend approximately 2–3 minutes. Avoid boiling water. Ginger can stand up to high temperatures, but the green tea is more delicate. Using the recommended 185°F water allows the ginger to develop while helping the tea retain its fresh character without becoming excessively bitter or astringent.

Perfect For

Ginger Green Tea is particularly suited to ginger lovers, savory-tea drinkers, green-tea explorers, cool mornings, after-meal tea, or anyone who wants a straightforward alternative to sweeter flavored teas. Pair it with sushi, dumplings, stir-fries, noodles, rice dishes, grilled fish, vegetables, citrus desserts, ginger cookies, or lightly sweetened pastries. It is also worth trying iced, where the combination becomes especially crisp and refreshing.

Packaging: Our loose teas are sold by the ounce and packaged in food-grade resealable bags.

Explore Spice Through Green Tea

Ginger Green is an excellent starting point for understanding how spice can transform green tea without overwhelming it. Begin here with the simple contrast of green tea and ginger. Then compare it with Bombay Spiced Chai Green to experience ginger among traditional chai spices, or Bangkok Blend to discover how ginger changes when surrounded by coconut and lemongrass.

Sometimes the simplest blend provides the clearest tasting lesson: start with two ingredients, learn what each contributes, and build from there.
