Join us for a hands-on matcha experience that goes far beyond the bowl. In this immersive class, we’ll explore the rich history of matcha—beginning with its origins in China, where powdered tea was first developed, long before it became the cultural icon we associate with Japan today. You’ll learn how this early practice traveled across the sea and was refined in Japan into the deeply meaningful tradition we now know as the Japanese tea ceremony.
We’ll introduce the cultural and philosophical foundations behind The Way of Tea (the Japanese tea ceremony), including concepts such as harmony (wa), respect (kei), purity (sei), and tranquility (jaku), and how these values shape both the ritual and the mindset of preparing and sharing matcha.
The class concludes with a guided, hands-on matcha session, where you’ll be provided with an individual matcha-making set and learn how to prepare and whisk matcha using traditional tools properly. Whether you’re new to matcha or looking to deepen your understanding, this class offers a thoughtful blend of history, culture, and practice—inviting you to slow down, be present, and experience matcha as it was meant to be enjoyed.
Participants in this class have the option to purchase the matcha class only or the bundle of class & matcha-making set, bringing home a brand new set with you after the practice in class ($55 value if sold individually).

14 days before the event- full refund minus $10 processing fee per ticket
7 days before the event - 50% refund minus $10 processing fee per ticket
Within 7 days of the event - No refund, but an event voucher will be issued for future events (with difference paid at new booking) with $10 processing fee per ticket
