A smooth decaffeinated black tea bursting with ripe strawberry character, layered with real strawberry, strawberry leaves, papaya, and natural flavors for a juicy, fruit-forward cup that shines hot or iced.
The Experience
Strawberry Wild Decaffeinated Black Tea captures one of summer’s most recognizable flavors in a cup you can enjoy throughout the year.
The blend begins with orthodox decaffeinated black tea, providing a smooth, medium-bodied foundation for strawberry fruit, strawberry leaves, papaya, and natural flavors. Strawberry leads with its familiar ripe, juicy berry character, while papaya contributes additional fruitiness and roundness. The black tea remains present underneath, keeping the finished cup balanced rather than turning it into a purely fruit-flavored infusion.
The result is bright, aromatic, fruity, and gently sweet-tasting, with enough tea character to make it satisfying hot and enough strawberry to make it especially refreshing over ice.

How to Brew
Use 1 heaping teaspoon with The Perfect Measure Spoon per 8 oz / 237 ml of water at 212°F / 100°C.
Mild: 2–3 minutes
Medium: 4–5 minutes
Strong: 6–7 minutes
For your first cup, we recommend approximately 4 minutes. This gives the black tea enough time to develop while keeping the strawberry bright and balanced. For iced tea, brew slightly stronger before pouring over plenty of ice.
Perfect For
Strawberry Wild Decaf is an easy choice for afternoon and evening tea, summer iced tea, picnics, brunch, dessert tea, or whenever you want something fruit-forward without another fully caffeinated cup. Pair it with shortcake, vanilla cake, scones, cheesecake, chocolate, fresh berries, almond pastries, or buttery cookies.
Strawberry Leaves Don't Taste Like Strawberries
One interesting detail hidden in the ingredient list is strawberry leaves. It's easy to assume that leaves from a strawberry plant should taste strongly like the berry, but they don't provide the same juicy fruit character. Their contribution is more subtle and botanical.
This is why reading a loose-leaf tea ingredient list can teach you something about blending: an ingredient you can see in the dry leaf isn't necessarily the ingredient responsible for the dominant flavor in your cup.
In Strawberry Wild, the recognizable berry profile comes from the combination of strawberry, papaya, natural flavors, and the supporting botanicals—not strawberry leaves alone.
Why Black Tea with Strawberry?
Strawberry can easily become overly confectionary when paired with a base that has too little character. Black tea provides contrast. Its natural structure and mild astringency help keep the fruit in balance, creating a cup that moves from ripe strawberry into genuine tea character rather than simply ending in sweetness.
That balance is particularly noticeable if you taste the tea unsweetened first. Let the cup cool slightly, too. Fruit aromatics often become easier to distinguish as a tea moves from piping hot toward warm.
A Strawberry Tea Made for Ice
If you're deciding which preparation to try first, we particularly recommend Strawberry Wild iced. Temperature changes the balance of the blend:
-
Hot: The black-tea foundation is more apparent and the strawberry feels softer and rounder.
-
Iced: The fruit becomes brighter and more refreshing, allowing the strawberry character to take center stage.
For iced preparation, brew somewhat stronger than your normal hot cup and pour over plenty of ice. Taste before adding sweetener—the strawberry aroma already creates a noticeable impression of sweetness.
Decaf Doesn't Mean Caffeine-Free
Strawberry Wild Decaf contains genuine tea from the Camellia sinensis plant, which naturally contains caffeine before processing. Decaffeination removes most of that caffeine, but small residual amounts may remain.
Choose this tea when you want significantly less caffeine while retaining the body and character of a flavored black tea. If complete caffeine avoidance is important, consider a naturally caffeine-free fruit, herbal, or rooibos blend instead.
Packaging: Our loose teas are sold by the ounce and packaged in food-grade resealable bags.
