Because these are traditional unglazed Yixing-style clay tea pets, they are designed to slowly absorb tea oils and essence over many tea sessions over time — rather than changing immediately within days or weeks. With regular “feeding” during tea sessions, the porous clay gradually develops more sheen, character, and even subtle tea aroma.

One enjoyable way to use them is to gently pour leftover warm tea over the tea pets during each tea session and allow them to naturally air dry. Over months and years, they begin to develop their own personality and patina alongside your tea memories.
