This tea is an OP1 grade black tea from the Ratnapura District, near the Sinharaja Rainforest. Sri Lanka is most famous for its higher elevation teas but we think this lower elevation tea tastes exceptional. Brewed at three minutes it is smooth with lovely cocoa undertones.
Katherine says, "Vithanakande is also referred to as New Vithanakande, after the tea factory that overlooks Sinharaja Rainforest. A very special tea and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Ceylon teas."
